Our 2016 Golf Scramble Fundraiser held at Shaker Run Golf Course in Lebanon, Ohio. Thank you to all of the golfers who came out to play and support New Hope for Cancer. Golfers enjoyed lunch provided by Shaker Run, and a delicious dinner by Montgomery Inn. 100% of the $10,000 we raised went directly to New Hope for Cancer. Title: “Fight Cancer with Your Fork”
Dr. Susan Silberstein founded the Center for Advancement in Cancer Education in October of 1977, after the death of her young husband to cancer. For 35 years, she served as the organization’s Executive Director before assuming her current position as Educational Director. An international speaker on nutrition, cancer prevention, and complementary and alternative medicine, Susan lectures frequently for medical and nursing schools, continuing oncology nursing education programs, universities, corporations, and other organizations.
Since 1977, she has coordinated scores of health conferences, given hundreds of broadcast, print and web interviews, provided continuing education to thousands of healthcare professionals, counseled more than 25,000 cancer patients, and trained nearly 60,000 prevention-seekers. Susan is the author of numerous books, including Hungry for Health, Hungrier for Health, Alphabetical Beat Cancer Diet Guide, and Breast Cancer: Is it What You’re Eating or What’s Eating You? Creator of the online Holistic Cancer Educator Certification Course, she is also the designer of the Beat Cancer Kit series, narrator of the popular video Fight Cancer with Your Fork, and editor of Immune Perspectives magazine.
For several years, Susan taught the psychology of health and disease in the Graduate Division of Counseling Psychology at Immaculata University. She also served as Educational Advisor to the National Foundation for Alternative Medicine, as trainer for Ultimate Health Group and Peak Potentials, Inc., as Director of the Integrative Program for Cancer Prevention at the Newtown Medical Center, and as consultant for various educational and clinical facilities. A frequent contributing writer for various health publications, she is featured in several books, including Rutgers University Press’s Evaluating Alternative Cancer Therapies.
A Phi Beta Kappa and Fulbright scholar, she has won numerous awards for her work in cancer education, among them the Jefferson Award of the American Institute for Public Service, the Legion of Honor Award of the Chapel of Four Chaplains, the Montgomery County Woman of Vision Award, the Founder’s Award of the National Foundation for Alternative Medicine, and the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Center for Advancement in Cancer Education.
Susan is also an accomplished linguist, a trained opera singer, and mother of four.
Title: “Accelerating Wellness with Thermography”
Dr. Piana Graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1991 with Research Honors. Since graduating he has received a certification in Soft Tissue Injuries and Auto Accident Case Management. He is a Fellow in Chiropractic Biophysics, as well as a Fellow in Clinical Thermology. He trains doctors around the world in thermal imaging, and is the President of the Professional Academy of Clinical Thermology (PACT), a non-profit organization. Dr. Piana has been practicing since 1991 in a sports and family practice.
He is the president of the Professional Academy of Clinical Thermology and ranks as one of the top thermologists in the United States. He is a sought out speaker who travels all over the world to educate doctors, technicians and patients on the benefits of thermography and how it needs to become part of every doctor’s practice.
Title: “An Integrative Approach to Pain”
Hal S. Blatman, MD is the founder and medical director of the Blatman Health and Wellness Center, and a nationally recognized specialist in treating myofascial pain. He is credentialed in Pain Management and Board Certified in Occupational and Environmental Medicine and in Integrative Holistic Medicine.

He later studied ergonomics during his residency in Occupational and Environmental Medicine at the University of Cincinnati Hospital. For several years, Dr. Blatman practiced family medicine while managing a chain of urgent care facilities.
During Dr. Blatman’s tenure in general medicine, he recognized western medicine’s difficulty treating and managing chronic and myofascial pain. Consequently, he studied with the late Janet Travell, MD, then recognized as the world’s leading expert in treating myofascial pain disorders.
In 1988, Dr. Blatman established Cincinnati’s first clinic specifically dedicated to providing traditional and holistic pain treatment solutions.
Dr. Blatman is a Board Certified Practitioner of Integrative and Holistic Medicine, Designated A.B.I.H.M., for American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine. Dr. Blatman is a Past-President of the American Holistic Medical Association.
Title:”Finding and Choosing Mental Wellness”
Allen T. Lewis, M.D. is a respected national and international speaker on targeted nutrient management of learning, mood and behavior disorders. He graduated from the University of Washington, School of Medicine in 1990 and completed his Pediatric Residency at Primary Childrens Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1993. He currently uses integrative and functional medicine for the management of Autism, AD(H)D, PANS/PANDAS, Lyme Disease, Behavior Disorder, Anxiety/ Depression and chronic medical illnesses. He specializes in targeted nutrient therapy of biochemical imbalances, which underlie the symptoms of many of the illnesses he sees at Sancta Familia Center for Integrative Medicine, LLC.

Dr. Nathan Morris-Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner
Dr. Morris sees complex patients of all ages at his Good Medicine practice in Oxford, Ohio, and specializes in determining connections between seemingly disparate clinical observations, approaching the body as an integrated whole. This approach allows the root cause to be illustrated so that the complex becomes simple.
Dr. Morris also applies genetic testing as a tool to objectively guide personalized approaches to detoxification, age-related cognitive function, and cellular health.
